Action: 2030 - Keeping your Home Cozy or Cool

We had a home energy audit, which right off the bat supplied us with energy efficient light bulbs everywhere we hadn't changed bulbs yet. Our old thermostats were changed as well with brand new ones that are way more accurate. Insulating our house did not work, because the sheet rock in our house is too thin and would buckle. But we did replace our ancient refrigerator and got a rebate. We also installed heat pumps so we don't burn as much oil to heat our house, and got a handsome rebate for that too. We installed solar panels, and got impressive tax breaks for that, both Fed and State offer tax incentives. We are still getting SREC payments for our solar panels, which pay for themselves in 7 years. We did insulate our attic crawlspace with thick foam, which made a huge difference in heat escaping through the roof. (no more icycles!)
